Employee Representation Report
Intentional culture.
At Tucows, our goal is to create a space where every member of the Herd can proudly bring their whole, true selves to work.
“The Herd” explained
“The Herd” refers to all employees across Tucows. While our businesses all operate a bit differently, our people culture and commitment to the Herd remains united.

As Tucows Domains, we help people find their place online as the world’s largest domain name wholesaler and the third-largest domain registrar globally.
As Ting Internet, we deliver high-speed fiber internet service to communities across the United States.
As Wavelo, we believe the future of telecom is simple. We build telecom billing and operations software for CSPs (communication service providers) globally.
As TCX, we provide shared services for our businesses to create efficiency for our partners.
Together, we are on a mission to make the Internet better.
Our culture.
While we have split into three standalone businesses - Ting, Tucows Domains and Wavelo - since our last Employee Representation Report, our collective people-first philosophy remains unchanged.
Inclusion doesn’t stem from data alone. Instead, we believe it’s created when data is used to inform the right resources, spaces and support needed for our teams.
With this in mind, at Tucows, we believe in prioritizing an inclusive culture over mere metrics.
The following report transparently shares who we are today and shares our approach to inclusivity and employee experience. While we may not always get it right, we will always strive to do better and promise to continue transparently sharing our progress in this space.

Diversity without inclusion is futile.
We believe in data but not benchmarks.
Diversity isn’t an end goal in itself, but it is a vital part of building an intentionally inclusive culture.
We’re focused on creating a space where our employees can proudly bring their whole true selves to work. And we will continue to build and protect this people culture every day.

Data details
Historically, we’ve asked Herd members to complete an optional demographic survey to help us understand our employee population and inform future people programming.
This year, instead, we asked our teams to consider adding this information to our Human Resource Information System – only accessible to system admin and HR. Aside from better data management and record-keeping, this approach also allows the Herd to edit their replies as their identity may evolve.
Approximately 50% of our Herd completed DEI fields, which we are incredibly grateful for.
Participation was completely voluntary and data has only been used on an aggregated and anonymized basis.
While data was initially collected in spring 2024, the following report was adjusted to represent any participants who were still with Tucows as of November 2024 to ensure an authentic reflection of our Herd.

Learning from our last report
Since our last report – with the goal to continually improve and best support our people – we have:
- Added new fields - including Indigenous ethnicity - to our self-identification data fields. This was missed last time and we didn’t want to make that mistake again.
- Evolved our existing Employee Resource Group framework to streamline support from the company and provide more autonomy for our people.
